Medieval city of Loket
First typed comment about Loket is from years 1234 A. D. but one of the most romantic city in Czech Republic is definitely older. It lies close to the west Bohemia spas such as Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně or Františkovi Lázně. The Romanic-Gothic kings catsle was found in 12th century. All buildings in old town center are cultural monuments by czech law. It has the same medieval look as it has before 500 years. Besides the castle, there are other significant buildings in the town, such as ST. Wenceslas church, ST. Anna’s chapel, plague pillar or town hall. The city is surrounded by massive Gothic rampart, which gave it very unique look. Tourists very often visited Loket as they are staying in the spas. But the city itself if an ideal place to stay and to make trips around the west Bohemia region. Due to his specific location in the center of this region, are all the other interesting places of region easilly accesible. So if You stay in Loket You shouldn’t miss the oportunity to visit chateau Bečov and Kynžvart, or the famous spa tringle, which consist of Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Frantičkovi Lázně.
